Former premier Nawaz Sharif is expected to be shifted to the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore on Tuesday (today) under strict security measures after spending a night in the Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail following the accountability court’s verdict in the Al-Azizia reference sentencing him to seven years in prison.
According to a notification issued by the interior ministry, the Punjab government has allowed a Better Class cell in prison for him after he submitted an application requesting for it.
The notification further stated that he would be entitled to avail the options including books, newspapers, a 21-inch television, a table and a chair and a table lamp, a mattress, personal bedding and clothing and food.
Besides, Sharif has been acquitted by the court in the Flagship reference.
