Australian University Waives Off 100% Tuition Fee for 5 Pakistani Students

HEC Chairman said that the commission holds its partnership with Australian higher education institutions in high esteem
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced that an Australian education institute, Griffith University, will waive off 100 percent of its tuition fee for five Pakistani students every year.

This information came up in a meeting between Australian High Commissioner Margaret Adamson and HEC Chairman Dr. Tariq Banuri.

In the meeting, the HEC Chairman said that the commission holds its partnership with Australian higher education institutions in high esteem.

He welcomed the Griffith University in becoming a part of this relationship. Dr. Banuri added that 10 Australian universities are already collaborating with the commission. Currently, 160 Pakistani students are enrolled in Ph.D. programs at these universities, he divulged.The chairman told the Australian High Commission delegation that other than science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering, Pakistan’s priorities also include social sciences, humanities, arts.

He also apprised the HC delegation about overseas and indigenous scholarship programs. High Commissioner Adamson opined that Pakistan and Australia have developed a long-term partnership over higher education that offers an opportunity for collaboration in research along with short and long-term programs, education, and capacity building courses.

Griffith Business School’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. David Grant, Austrade Country Director Azhar Shah, Austrade Trade Commissioner Peter Coleman, Director International Prof. Peter Woods and Griffith Business School Regional Market Manager Mohannad Bawaz were also present in the meeting.
