Jerry Seinfeld is being sued by a company that claims it bought the comedian's 1958 Porsche for $1.5m (£1.1m), only to find it was fake.
A lawsuit has been filed by Fica Frio Ltd in Manhattan federal court against the star, who is a classic car enthusiast and hosts the Netflix series Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.
The court documents said Fica Frio's representatives paid $1.54m at an March 2016 auction in Amelia Island, Florida. The price included the 10% auction commission.
The firm, based in the Channel Islands, is seeking unspecified damages including the costs of the purchase, alleging that the car is not authentic.
An auction summary of the Porsche said that it was "FROM THE JERRY SEINFELD COLLECTION" and said it was a "stunning example of a rare thoroughbred Porsche".
